Two days is all you need for a first taste of the Sahara. The drive from Fes climbs through the Middle Atlas, past Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, then drops into the Ziz Valley and its palm oases before the dunes rise on the horizon.

Itinerary outline
Fes → Middle Atlas → Merzouga (Sahara)
Pickup in Fes at 7:30. South through the Middle Atlas, stopping in alpine-style Ifrane and the Azrou cedar forest for the wild Barbary macaques. Lunch in Midelt, then down into the Ziz Valley with its miles of palm oasis. Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon, ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset, and sleep in the Berber desert camp with dinner and music around the fire.
Merzouga → Fes
Up early for sunrise over the dunes, breakfast at the camp and a camel ride back to Merzouga. Shower, then the road north retraces the Ziz Valley, Midelt and the Middle Atlas with lunch and photo stops, meeting Fes around 8:00 pm.

Good to know
Are the dates flexible?
Yes. Every departure is private, so the route runs on your calendar — tell us when you arrive and we build the days around it.
What happens if the weather turns?
Safety comes first. In rain or a heavy sandstorm we swap the exposed sections for an adapted route or a 4x4, and keep the rest of the experience intact.
Is two days enough for the desert?
For a first taste, yes. You reach the dunes in time for sunset, sleep under the stars and watch dawn from the top of a dune before driving back to Fes. For a slower desert, add a night in Merzouga.
Can we start in Merzouga and end in Fes?
Yes — the route runs in either direction. Tell us which pair of cities suits your flights and we build the days around it.
